About Bacteriostatic Water

Bacteriostatic water is sterile water preserved with 0.9% benzyl alcohol. The preservative suppresses bacterial growth, which is what allows a vial to be entered more than once: a peptide reconstituted with bacteriostatic water can be stored and drawn from over a period of weeks, where the same peptide in plain sterile water is a single-session preparation.

Used for

Reconstituting lyophilized peptides that dissolve cleanly at neutral pH, which covers most of this catalogue; preparing working dilutions from a stock solution; and rinsing between preparations. Sequences that resist neutral water, several of the growth-hormone and IGF-family peptides among them, are normally taken up in dilute acetic acid first and diluted from there.

Supplied in sealed glass vials, sterile filtered, by the same manufacturers that supply our peptides. There is no purity assay to publish here the way there is for a peptide; what matters is sterility and the benzyl alcohol concentration, specified by the manufacturer at 0.9%.

Store at room temperature away from direct light. Nothing here needs refrigerating and nothing here needs reconstituting; it is what you reconstitute with. UK orders placed before 2pm on business days are dispatched the same day in discreet, protective packaging with tracked delivery.
