Terms of sale

The contract between you and Pepts. In short: everything we sell is for laboratory research only, prices include VAT, we ship tracked within the UK, and if you are a consumer you have 14 days to change your mind on any sealed vial. The detail is below, and it is the part that binds.

Last updated: 30 September 2026

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Demirius Ltd. We sell high-purity research compounds and laboratory consumables for in-vitro research use.

  • Registered name: Demirius Ltd, trading as Pepts
  • Registered in: England and Wales, company number 16820023
  • Registered office: 47 Cranwell Crescent, Eaton Leys, Milton Keynes, MK17 9GS, England
  • VAT registration number: GB 505 3821 14
  • Email: support@pepts.co.uk, or the contact form

We answer messages within one business day (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm UK time). Writing to the email address above is a valid way to serve any notice under these terms, including a cancellation.

2. These terms, and who they apply to

These are the terms on which we sell to you. Please read them before ordering: at checkout you tick a box confirming you accept them, and we record the moment you do against your order.

They apply whether you buy as a consumer, meaning an individual buying wholly or mainly outside a trade, business, craft or profession, or as a business customer, such as a laboratory, university or company. A few clauses apply to only one of the two, and say so at the top.

If you are a consumer, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 that cannot be signed away. Nothing in these terms affects them. Where anything here is less generous than the law requires for a consumer, the law wins and we will apply it.

These terms, the shipping and returns policy and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us for the sale of goods. Nothing said in an email, a product description or a review forms part of it unless these terms say so.

3. Research use only

Everything we sell is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. Our products are not medicines, foods, cosmetics, medical devices or dietary supplements, and they are not intended for human or veterinary use of any kind, whether by injection, ingestion, inhalation, topical application or any other route.

Compounds sold here, including investigational compounds such as retatrutide, tirzepatide and semaglutide, hold no MHRA marketing authorisation and are not licensed medicines in the United Kingdom. We give no dosage, administration, reconstitution-for-use or therapeutic guidance, and we will not do so if you ask.

By placing an order you confirm that:

  • you are at least 18 years old;
  • you are buying for laboratory research, and you have the facilities, training and competence to handle research chemicals safely;
  • you will not use the products, or allow them to be used, on humans or animals, and will not resell or supply them to anyone who intends to;
  • you are responsible for complying with every law, licence, approval and institutional rule that applies to your research.

These confirmations are a condition of sale. We may refuse or cancel any order where we have reason to believe the products are not intended for laboratory research, and we do so from time to time.

4. How a contract is formed

  • Adding items to your basket and paying is an offer to buy, not a contract.
  • The confirmation email you receive straight after checkout, with your order number, acknowledges that we have your order. It is not acceptance of it.
  • A contract comes into existence when we email you to say your order has been dispatched, and only for the items in that email.

If we cannot accept your order, for example because an item has sold out, because it was mispriced, because we cannot authorise your payment, or because we do not believe the research-use conditions are met, we will tell you and refund any payment in full. We do not have to give a reason.

Every order number has the form PEP-XXXXXX and appears in your confirmation email; quote it whenever you write to us about an order.

5. Prices, VAT and discounts

Prices are in pounds sterling and are the prices displayed on the product page at the moment you place your order. They include UK VAT at the applicable rate, currently 20%. A VAT invoice is available on request: email us with your order number and, if you need it on the invoice, your own VAT number.

Prices change, sometimes while you are looking at the page: the site streams price changes live, so a figure may update in front of you. The price that binds is the one shown in your basket when you submit the order, and putting an item in your basket does not reserve its price.

Pricing mistakes. We try hard to price correctly, but if an item is obviously mispriced and the mistake could reasonably have been recognised as a mistake, we do not have to sell it at that price. We will contact you, and you can confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

Quantity discounts. Our Bundle & Save tiers are a volume discount that applies automatically to the unit price when you buy more than one of the same size. No code is needed.

Discount codes. Where we issue a code, it is subject to any conditions published with it, applies to one order, has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for goods bought before it was issued, and may be withdrawn at any time before you place an order.

Free research vials. Orders with a subtotal over £120 arrive with a free research vial. It is a full vial from the same stock we sell, not a sample. We choose which compound it is and it changes from order to order, so it cannot be requested, picked or swapped. It is added to your order as a £0 line and forms part of the order. It carries the same research-use-only conditions as everything else in the parcel. It is subject to availability and has no cash alternative, and we can change or withdraw the offer at any time before you place an order. If you cancel the whole order, the vial comes back with it. If you return part of an order so that what you keep falls below £120, either send the research vial back unopened or keep it, in which case we deduct the price it sells for on this site from your refund.

6. Payment

You can pay in one of two ways.

  • Pay by bank, where available: our open-banking checkout is operated by Fena, an FCA-authorised payment institution providing open-banking payment initiation. You approve the payment inside your own banking app. No card or banking credentials ever reach this site, and we never see them.
  • Bank transfer: place the order and we email you payment instructions and a reference. Quote the reference so we can match your payment to your order.

Nothing is dispatched until payment has cleared into our account. We hold stock for an unpaid order for 7 days; after that we may cancel the order and release the stock, and you are free to order again.

If you are a business customer and pay late, we may charge interest and costs under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. This does not apply to consumers.

7. Delivery

We deliver within the United Kingdom only. We do not ship internationally, and checkout will not accept a non-UK address.

  • Dispatch: orders placed before 2pm on a business day (Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays) are dispatched the same day. Orders placed after that, or at a weekend or on a public holiday, go out on the next business day.
  • Carrier and cost: Royal Mail Tracked 24, in discreet protective packaging. Standard delivery is £4.99, and is free on orders with a subtotal over £80.
  • Timing: delivery is usually the next working day after dispatch. That is an estimate and not a guarantee. In any event we will deliver within 30 days of the day the contract is formed unless we have agreed something different with you.

If delivery is late. If we miss the 30-day deadline, you may treat the contract as at an end and get a full refund. If the delivery date was essential to you and you told us so before ordering, or the delay is our fault and delivery within a further reasonable period is not possible, you may end the contract straight away.

If nobody is there. The carrier will leave a card and follow its own process for redelivery or collection. If, after a failed delivery, you do not rearrange delivery or collect the parcel from the depot, it comes back to us and we will contact you. If we still cannot arrange delivery after a reasonable further attempt, we may end the contract and refund the goods, less our reasonable costs of the failed delivery.

Risk and ownership. The goods become your responsibility when they are delivered to the address you gave us. You own them once we have received payment in full.

Address accuracy. We ship to the address you enter. If you give us an incomplete or wrong address, tell us immediately: before dispatch we can usually correct it, and after dispatch we cannot.

8. Quality, storage and handling

Every compound is synthesised to the purity specification stated on its product page and supplied as lyophilized powder in a sealed glass vial. That specification describes the material as supplied by us. It is not a statement that the compound is suitable for any particular research application, and it says nothing about how the material behaves after it leaves our hands: storage, reconstitution and handling are yours to control, and peptides degrade if they are stored wrongly.

Where the manufacturer has supplied a certificate of analysis for the batch we hold, we show it on the product page for that size and on our Quality page, with the supplier's identifying details blurred, and we send the full certificate on request. It is the manufacturer's document, reporting what its laboratory found in a sample of that batch on the date it gives. It is not a test we commissioned, and it adds no promise about an individual vial beyond the specification above. Our stock is not tracked by lot, so a certificate describes the batch we received, not a particular vial.

Storage guidance is printed on each vial and repeated on every product page. Please follow it.

9. Your right to cancel (consumers): 14 days

This section applies if you bought as a consumer.

Because you are buying online, you have a legal right to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. You have 14 days from the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods to tell us you are cancelling. You do not need a reason.

How to cancel. Email us at support@pepts.co.uk or use the contact form, with your order number and which items you are cancelling. Any clear statement is enough. You can use the model cancellation form on our shipping and returns page, but you do not have to. Cancelling in time is what matters: send it before the 14 days are up.

Sending the goods back. Send them back within 14 days of telling us. Return postage is at your own cost, unless the item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, in which case we pay. Get proof of postage: until the parcel reaches us it is your risk.

What you get back. We refund the price you paid for the returned goods plus the standard delivery charge you paid on the original order (we only offer one delivery service, so that is the whole delivery charge). If you cancel only part of an order, we refund the goods but not the delivery. We refund within 14 days of getting the goods back, or of your proof of posting if that comes first, to the same payment method you used.

Handling. You may examine the goods as you would in a shop. If you handle them beyond that, and their value drops as a result, we may reduce your refund to reflect it.

What cannot be cancelled: opened vials. Regulation 28(3)(b) of those regulations removes the right to cancel for sealed goods that are not suitable for return once unsealed, for reasons of health protection or hygiene. Our vials are supplied sterile-sealed under a crimped cap. Once that seal is broken or the cap removed, the contents cannot be verified as unadulterated or uncontaminated and can never be sold to anyone else, so an opened vial cannot be returned or refunded. Sealed, undamaged vials are unaffected and can be returned in the ordinary way.

This exclusion never applies to a vial that arrives faulty, damaged or not as described. See the next section.

10. If something is wrong with your order

Tell us as soon as you can, with your order number, the batch number and a photograph if the problem is visible. We would rather hear about it early.

If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you rights we cannot exclude. Goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for any purpose you made known to us before buying. In summary:

  • up to 30 days from delivery: if the goods are faulty you can reject them for a full refund;
  • up to six months: we get one opportunity to repair or replace, and if that fails you can have most or all of your money back;
  • up to six years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (five years from discovery in Scotland): you may still have a claim if the goods did not last a reasonable time.

Nothing in these terms limits any of this, and we pay return postage on anything faulty, damaged or wrongly supplied.

If you are a business customer, please inspect the goods on delivery and tell us about damage, shortage or the wrong item within 7 days of delivery, and about anything else within 30 days. Our obligation is limited to replacing the goods or refunding their price, at our option.

11. Returns by business customers

This section applies if you bought as a business.

The 14-day right to change your mind is a consumer right and does not apply to business purchases. As a matter of goodwill we will normally accept sealed, undamaged vials back within 14 days of delivery for a refund of the product price, at our discretion, with return postage at your cost. Agree the return with us in writing first. Opened vials cannot be returned for the reasons given above, and your rights in respect of faulty goods are unaffected.

12. Our right to refuse, cancel or suspend

We may refuse or cancel an order, or close an account, where:

  • we believe the products are intended for human or veterinary use, or for resale to someone who intends that;
  • we cannot verify the order, the payment, or the delivery address;
  • the order breaks these terms, or applicable law, or a restriction on a particular compound;
  • the item is out of stock or was mispriced.

If we cancel an order you have already paid for, you get a full refund. We may also stop selling a product at any time, and may withdraw or change parts of the site. None of that affects an order we have already accepted.

13. Reviews and anything else you post

If you submit a review you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, store and display it on this site and in our marketing, alongside the display name you chose and whether the purchase was verified. You keep ownership of what you wrote. You can ask us to take your review down at any time.

A review must be your own genuine experience of the product for research purposes. We do not pay for reviews, and we do not delete honest bad ones. We do moderate, and we will refuse or remove content that:

  • describes or encourages human or veterinary use, dosing, or self-administration;
  • makes medical, therapeutic or performance claims;
  • is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, or infringes somebody else's rights;
  • includes personal data about another person, or contact details;
  • is not about the product, or is not from a real customer.

Reviews from a signed-in account matched to a real order are published automatically and marked as a verified purchase; everything else is held for moderation first.

14. Using this website

The site, its text, images, product photography, renders and layout belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other rights. You may view, print and download extracts for your own reference. You may not copy the catalogue, the descriptions or the imagery for a commercial purpose, or re-publish them, without our permission.

You agree not to misuse the site: no attempts to gain unauthorised access, no scraping that degrades the service, no interference with its operation, and nothing that introduces malicious code. We publish a public read-only interface for automated agents at /api/mcp and a machine-readable summary at /llms.txt; those are the supported routes for automated access to catalogue data, and we would rather you used them.

Product descriptions, specifications and linked published research are provided for information about the compound as a research material. They are not advice, and they are not a recommendation to use anything in any particular way. Links to third-party sites, including PubMed and journal pages, are not our content and we are not responsible for them.

We try to keep the site available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may suspend it for maintenance.

15. Our responsibility for loss or damage

We never exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. For consumers, that includes your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If you are a consumer: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, and we are not liable for business losses. If you use the products for a business purpose, the business terms below apply instead.

If you are a business customer: we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss or corruption of data, loss of anticipated savings, wasted expenditure, loss or invalidation of research results, or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for all claims connected with an order is limited to the amount you paid for the goods in that order. You indemnify us against any claim brought against us arising from your use of the products contrary to these terms.

Use contrary to these terms. We are not responsible for any consequence of the products being administered to a human or an animal, or otherwise used outside in-vitro laboratory research. That is a use you have expressly confirmed you will not make, and it is outside anything we can foresee or control.

16. Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by something outside our reasonable control, such as carrier or postal disruption, supplier failure, customs or regulatory action, fire, flood, epidemic, or failure of public networks or utilities. We will tell you as soon as we can, and do what we reasonably can to limit the delay. If the delay is substantial, you may cancel the affected order and we will refund it in full.

17. Complaints and disputes

Please come to us first: email support@pepts.co.uk with your order number and what has gone wrong. We acknowledge complaints within one business day and aim to resolve them within 14 days, telling you where things stand if it will take longer.

We are not currently a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme, and we do not propose to use one. That does not limit your rights: if we cannot settle a complaint between us, you can take the matter to court. Consumers can also get free, impartial advice from Citizens Advice (0808 223 1133, citizensadvice.org.uk).

18. Other terms

Changes. We may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the version published when you placed it, and we keep the date of the last change at the top of this page. We do not apply changes retrospectively to orders already accepted.

Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business, and will tell you if we do; your rights are unaffected. You may only transfer yours with our written agreement.

Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unlawful, the rest continues in force.

Delay is not waiver. If we do not insist on something straight away, or delay in taking steps against you, that does not stop us doing so later.

Third parties. This contract is between you and us. Nobody else has rights to enforce it.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection of the place you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts as well as in ours.

Also worth reading: the shipping and returns policy, which sets out the practical steps and carries the cancellation form, and the privacy policy, which explains what we do with your data.
