About Acetic Acid Water

Acetic acid water is sterile water acidified to 0.6% acetic acid. Dropping the pH puts a positive charge on basic residues, which breaks up the aggregates that keep some lyophilized peptides out of neutral solution. A powder that stays cloudy, or leaves visible flecks in bacteriostatic water no matter how long it is left to stand, will usually go clear in this.

Used for

The first dissolution step for peptides that resist neutral water, which includes much of the growth-hormone and IGF family; and preparing a stock solution that is then diluted into a working buffer. Most protocols dilute the acid back out rather than keep working at 0.6%, so a small vial goes a long way.

Supplied in sealed glass vials, sterile filtered, by the same manufacturers that supply our peptides. As with bacteriostatic water there is no peptide-style purity assay to publish; what is specified is sterility and the acid concentration, held by the manufacturer at 0.6%.

Store at room temperature away from direct light. Nothing here needs refrigerating and nothing here needs reconstituting; it is what you reconstitute with. UK orders placed before 2pm on business days are dispatched the same day in discreet, protective packaging with tracked delivery.
